and
bringing your site to life consists of several steps,
and we will work together to make sure your site
reflects you, your company, or your organization
in exactly the manner you wish!: |
|
We
need to get together, either by telephone
or in person, to discuss the purpose of your site,
the audience you are trying to reach, your goals
for the site, and the time frame in which we need
to work.
|
We'll
discuss the desired "look" and "feel"
of your site. Will is be a business site that
requires a serious tone with more conservative colors?
Or is this a fun or whimsical site? If so, we'll
use brighter colors and playful fonts. Take a look
at my Portfolio to see
examples of each. |
We'll
reserve your domain name and establish a hosting
program. I like to use Hostlane's
plans; they are reasonable, reliable, and efficient. |
You
and I will discuss the layout of your site,
including the number of pages, types of graphics,
colors, fonts, and interactive elements such as
forms that visitors can fill out. |
Once
we decide on a tentative number of pages (it
is common to add, change or delete pages along the
way), I ask for 50% of the estimated final fee to
be paid as a retainer. The remaining 50% is due
upon completion of the site to your satisfaction. |
I
will upload my work to the IP address as I prepare
it, and we will discuss each step. I welcome and
encourage your input, as this site is YOURS and
must represent your business. |
Once
the site is the way YOU like it, I will prepare
it for submission to search engines, adding
the appropriate tags so that the search engines
recognize it. I use a free search engine submission
site, so there is no additional charge to you for
this service. It takes from 3 days (smaller, lesser-known
engines) to several weeks (the biggies) for your
site to appear on the search engines. The position
of your site in the lists is random, but I make
the tags as appropriate as possible so that your
site is easily recognized. |
Periodically
the content of your site will change. All good
Web sites change, so that visitors are encouraged
to return and see "what's new." Whenever
you have an update, all you need to do is e-mail
it to me, telephone me, or FAX the changes.
I will then update your site within 24 hours. My
hourly fee for maintenance is $50; if your update
takes 10 minutes, I will simply make a note of it
and bill you when we have accumulated at least an
hour. |
Your
friends and business associates will rave about
your Web site and you'll wonder why you didn't
get one sooner! |
